Welcome, my name is Claire and this is my new creation, Mac Claire. However you found your way to this site, I'm happy to have you! So, what is Mac Claire? Well, the M, A, and C stand for Music, Arts, and Culture. This site is meant to be your destination for all things "Mac". Before I get too far though, let me provide you with a little background on myself. Currently, I'm a 20-something-year-old Professional Musician and Music Instructor based in New England, but I've always been interested in a wide variety of topics, mainly within the humanities.
I've been fortunate enough to do a lot of cool work over the years. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in American Studies. I've sung and played almost every genre of music you can think of and I've been a part of more staged productions than I can count off the top of my head. Previously, I worked as a Tour Guide at a historic house and participated in a historic restoration project. In high school I spent an entire year studying advanced Art History. I've read my fair share of "Entertainment Weekly" and have generally consumed a lot of media and culture over the years. Additionally, I love to write.
It's finally time for me to pull all of my interests together. Mac Claire is going to be the space where I curate my own little collection of favorites and recent finds. Things that are inclusive, entertaining, inspirational, and though-provoking. I'll cover it all: Books, Music, Movies, Art, Fashion, Food, Theatre, Podcasts, Pop Culture Trends, Television, and History.
In addition to my favorites and finds, I'll also be sharing original content. "Scenes from the Screen" stories will delve into my trips to locations that have been seen in movies, television, and sometimes even music videos: the history and background of each location and how the space was used in filming, how you can plan a visit, tips to know, places to eat and shop nearby, etc. "Greetings From..." stories will delve into my trips to particular "Mac" destinations: a museum exhibition, a food festival, the premiering of a new work at a theater company, etc.
Starting today, Mac Claire is live! It's going to be quite the new adventure full of Music, Art,and Cultural content. I hope you'll follow along and enjoy everything I share as much as I did upon first discovering it.
