Hello and welcome back to Mac Claire! I can't believe that February is coming to a close as I write this article, but I'm grateful for the fact that spring will soon be drawing near. This last Valentine's-themed feature is a "Scenes from the Screen" article about locations in Paris, France (the City of Love š) that I visited on a past trip there that have been featured in various films and television shows. š„ššØšµ
It's time for us to explore this romantic city and for me to take a trip down memory lane!
The Eiffel Tower
Probably the most well-known landmark in Paris, the Eiffel Tower has been seen in Mission: Impossible ā Fallout (2018), Funny Face (1957), and countless other films and shows. It has also been frequently depicted in animated films like Disney Pixar's Ratatouille (2007). During my trip I took the opportunity to climb to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower and took in the stunning views of Paris; it was definitely worth the effort.

Palace of Versailles
Versailles was the home of French royals and is full of history and grandeur, and I was fortunate enough to spend an afternoon strolling around its grounds when I visited Paris. Many film productions have actually been granted access to the Versailles palace and gardens to make their movies, including Midnight in Paris (2011), Marie Antoinette (2006), and Ridicule (1996).

Seine
The Seine River flows through Paris, breathing movement into the metropolis and reflecting the gorgeous, golden city lights every evening. One of the highlights of my trip was going on an evening river cruise along the Seine. Two movies that were filmed along the banks of the Seine River (and even in it!) are Before Sunset (2004) and Midnight in Paris (2011).

Louvre
The largest museum in the world, The Louvre is a must-see Paris attraction housing some of the most magnificent art in the world (like the famous Mona Lisa). As a big art and art history lover, this gigantic palace of artworks was another trip highlight for me. A few notable productions that have been filmed at The Louvre include The Da Vinci Code (2006), the new Netflix series Lupin, and Wonder Woman (2017).

Notre-Dame de Paris
Notre Dame is an extremely historic Catholic cathedral that still stands tall in Paris despite a fire back in 2019. Going inside Notre Dame when I visited the city and admiring its stunning French Gothic architecture was a once in a lifetime experience- although I'd love to be able to see it again someday. Notre Dame can be spotted in many films, including Charade (1963) and AmƩlie (2001).
