Mac Weekly Highlight 11.1.2020

This was probably one of the craziest first weeks of November we've ever seen, but luckily we've made it to Monday and are here together again to look at the best finds from Music, Arts & Culture's past week. I must forewarn you that this week's Mac Weekly Highlight is shorter than usual because I was primarily consuming Presidential Election coverage, but I'll be sure to make it up to you next week with a whole bunch of Music, Arts & Culture highlights. Today I'll be talking to you about Stuck on You by Givēon and the Celine César Project Compression Necklace from Celine and the César Foundation.

Music

Stuck on You, Givēon

This R&B/Soul song from the album When It's All Said And Done was released at the very end of September, but I just heard it for the first time this past week when Givēon performed it on Jimmy Kimmel Live. My attention was grabbed in the first few seconds with the somber piano introduction and Givēon's deep, rich voice. He's definitely an artist to watch. Stuck on You can be listened to on Spotify and most other music streaming platforms. Additionally, I will be adding the song to my Mac Weekly Highlight Playlist on Spotify, so be sure to head there and follow the playlist. The performance from Jimmy Kimmel Live can be watched below.

Fashion & Art

Celine César Project Compression Necklace

I came across this necklace while reading my November issue of Vogue and loved the look of it, plus its seamless connection of fashion and art. Fashion label Celine has collaborated with the César Foundation to create a collection of gold and silver necklaces inspired by the art of César Baldaccini. A late French sculptor, he was known for using unusual materials and compressing sculptures, inspired by seeing the usage of a heavyweight hydraulic crushing machine. You can learn more about the necklaces on the Celine website!
